SENIOR OUTDOOR ADVENTURE INSTRUCTOR

A rare opportunity has arisen to join us in a permanent role as Senior Outdoor Activity Instructor at our outdoor adventure activity centre. We are looking for a suitably qualified and experienced individual with enthusiasm and commitment to the development of young people. This is no ordinary role as you will need to be hands on and be able to manage a diverse team of apprentices and engage with clients to ensure they have a great experience during their visit.  You will be involved in organising the day to day deployment of staff and managing our water sports facilities.

This is a highly visible role dealing with customers and staff, problem solving, programming, planning, organising, co-ordinating and developing staff to ensure our centre provides the best facilities, services and programmes for our visitors. 

Candidates will need to have maturity and confidence, adventure activity qualifications, knowledge and experience along with self-motivation, leadership skills. You will also be a team player leading by example with the ability to manage and motivate.  You will need to be enthusiastic and passionate about working with young people and delivering standards of service.  You will have excellent communication and leadership skills and the desire to do what it takes to be successful. You will have experience in adventurous activity centres and be able to inspire people to achieve their full potential.  This is a great opportunity for someone who has demonstrated drive and determination and wants to develop their career further in this industry.  You will require qualification in adventure activities / water sports.

Essential

  • BC Level 2 Coach (Canoe or Kayak) or UKCC Level 1/2 Coach (Paddle sports)
  • BC 2*/3*/4* Canoe and/or Kayak
  • Archery GB (GNAS)

Desirable

  • Climbing Award (SPA or above)
  • Pool Lifeguard – (NPLA)
  • Riffle shooting (NSRA)
  • ATA (All Train Vehicle)
